I am FEM loyalist by heart, not a moment I doubted he was the true leader of his time, great leadership that was not reciprocated well and earned ire of many that led to the famous bloodless overthrow of 1986. We call him strongman but not strong enough to deal with all of eroding motives from within his inner circle to the strongest of forces beyond our EEZs.

Now we have BBM, the son who admitted his reluctance to enter politics. Viewed weak enough at the beginning that he has been allowed to slowly get his way into this arena he must have despised, due to the traumatic end of his father's greatness.

I am one among those that if you ask until about last year, my constant answer is that he is far from his father. But then it turned out to be his strongest point being the man we need for our country at this point in time and moving forward. He is not the strongman type, we do not need one now. But review of his journey from 1986 to this point makes him the only viable leader to empower the most talented people of this country for the collective leadership that the time now demands befitting the situation of today, not just of the Philippines but of the world.

If BBM is an ordinary man like me, he must have been out for violent revenge from day 1 beyond Feb 25, 1986. But instead, he lived through being reviled as the son of the dictator and branded as living off the so-called ill-gotten wealth. Married a woman from the opposite side, raised three sons in a family that is now a showcase of elegance, charm and strong bond, a model family that every Filipino would like to have. All the while, BBM let himself back into the mainstream of Philippines politics and now appears to be on top of it.

There're only couple of big problems. First there're plenty of great talents on the other side and they have unabated hatred in their hearts. Second, his popularity is attracting not too few riders of questionable track records. It only means, first he must win big then this must be dealt with.

I am therefore into the campaign for the following imperatives of our future as Filipinos that will be good for the Philippines that benefits the world. One, election must happen as it should be. Two, BBM if he is to win must win big, he needs the super-majority. Three, we must unite for the strong mandate of support while on the other hand keeping watch to hold BBM accountable for our future, this is the most important imperative even if it's not BBM.

It's not guaranteed as we must work hard for it, we will get there if we do. Stronger and prosperous Philippines, better Filipinos for the world.
